When Should a Short-Term Rental Be Assessed?
An assessment is appropriate after a guest or cleaner reports insects, droppings, gnawing, suspicious marks with physical evidence, repeated sightings, or activity that may connect to luggage, furniture, kitchens or neighbouring units.
- Possible bed-bug evidence appears around a bed, sofa, headboard or luggage area.
- Cockroaches, ants, fleas, rats or mice are seen in the apartment or shared building routes.
- A host needs to distinguish an isolated report from evidence requiring wider review.
Which Rental Areas Can Be Included?
The assessment follows evidence rather than treating every furnished surface. Agreed areas can include sleeping spaces, soft furniture, kitchens, storage, balconies and accessible shared routes.
How Is the Rental Response Coordinated?
The host first shares the exact report, photographs, dates, booking status and property access. Inspection then identifies usable evidence and defines preparation, selected work, re-entry instructions and any adjacent or follow-up checks.
Clarify the report
Record what was seen, where, when and whether physical evidence remains.
Plan access
Coordinate keys, occupied units, cleaners, belongings and the realistic booking window.
Confirm next steps
Issue case-specific preparation and return instructions after the service is selected.
What Should a Host Provide?
Send clear photographs, the room and furniture location, recent guest or cleaner reports, current occupancy, access details and previous pest-control information. Do not move belongings to another unit before instructions.
- Keep the reported area accessible without dismantling or discarding furniture.
- Identify pets, food, medicines and personal belongings that affect preparation.
- Explain whether neighbouring apartments or common areas show similar evidence.
Guest claims and bite photographs alone do not identify a pest; physical property evidence is required.

What Is Not Guaranteed for the Next Booking?
The website does not promise same-day arrival, immediate guest return, a fixed room-release time, complete elimination, reimbursement decisions, review management or a specific number of visits. The finding and written instructions govern the property.
- Booking pressure cannot replace the waiting and re-entry instructions for the selected work.
- Guest belongings and neighbouring units may be outside the host's control.
- Cleaning is a separate service unless expressly included.
Do not advertise a pest-free or immediately available unit based only on submitting a request.
What Determines the Airbnb Quote?
Airbnb pest control is priced from the pest, evidence, apartment size, furniture, affected rooms, occupancy, building context, access and any required follow-up. Approved insect pricing applies only when its published conditions fit.
