Clothes moth damage is caused by larvae, not the adult moths. The webbing clothes moth, Tineola bisselliella, is a small narrow moth with plain golden or buff wings and reddish-golden hairs on the head. Adults usually avoid bright light. The pale caterpillar-like larva is the feeding stage and may remain within silk webbing on material. Adult colour alone is insufficient; pair it with larvae and textile evidence.
